Boat Vinyl Repair

I'm in the process of repairing a half dollar size hole in a vinyl boat seat. Unfortunately, I overheated the repair. I now have a softball size halo around my repair. The seat is light tan with deep grain, so my repair is very obvious at the moment. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance for your input.

Injury and declining health mean that I need to change direction - so it's back to teaching for me. I've been doing progressively less repair work and more teaching over the last 18 months in the hope that I'd get better. But it's not going to happen.
